Ingredients
2 lb ground hamburger
1 lb ground lean pork
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. mashed potatoes
1 c. dry bread crumbs
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 c. milk
Preparation instructions
Combine all ingredients except cream; mix well. Form into small balls. Dip in flour. Brown, Put into baking dish. Pour cream over meatballs. Bake in slow oven 325°.
They may be fried in pan instead of baking.

Quick quaker oat cookies

Ingredients
4 c. oats
1 c. canola oil
1 box brown sugar
2 eggs, pinch of salt
1 t vanilla
chopped walnuts to taste.
Preparation instructions
Mix together oats, oil and brown sugar and let stand overnight. Then add 2 eggs, salt, vanilla and nuts.
Bake 325 about 12 minutes. when done, let stand in pan for about 1-2 min and then remove with spatula. These are delicate cookies but oh so good.

Oatmeal icebox cookies

Ingredients
1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 t. vanila
1 1/2 c. flour
1 t. salt
1 t. soda
3 cups qq oats
1/2 c. chopped nuts.
Preparation instructions
Blend shortening and sugars; add eggs. Add flour mixture. Cookie dough will be stiff. Shape into logs, about 3. Wrap in plastic wrap or wax paper. Freeze or chill until firm. Slice 1/4″ slices and bake at 350 oven for approx 10 minutes.
If you use butter instead of shortening, cookies will be chewy instead of crunchy.

Congo bars

Ingredients
2 3/4 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup butter or oleo
1 lb. brown sugar
1 12 oz. pkg. of chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 c. nuts (if desired)
Preparation instructions
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. Melt butter; add sugar and blend well. Add eggs one at a time, beating well. Add flour mixture, nuts, chocolate chips, and vanilla. Pour into 9X13 inch pan and bake for 25-30 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Do Not Overcook! Should be chewy. Will be thick to spread in pan so you may have to use a little water to spread them.

Apple cake

Ingredients
1/2 c. butter or margarine
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Dash of cinnamon
Dash of salt
4 c. raw apples, diced
1/2 c. walnuts
TOPPING:
1 scant c. brown sugar (do not pack down)
1/4 c. soft butter
2 T. flour
Preparation instructions
Mix together and put into a greased 9 X 13-inch pan. Combine topping ingredients and put on top of batter. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30-40 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.

Baked apples

Ingredients
6 large baking apples
3/4 c raisins or snipped pitted dates
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. water
Preparation instructions
Core Apples; peel off a strip around the top of each. Place apples in a 10x6x2 inch baking dish. Fill apples with raisins or dates. I a sauce pan combine brown sugar, water, butter or margarine, cinnamon, and nutmeg; bring to a boiling; Pour hot sugar mixture around apples. Bake, uncovered, i a 350° oven about 1 hour or till apples are tender. Basting occasionally with the sugar mixture. Serve warm with light cream or ice cream.

Ingredients
1 med onion- chopped fine
1/2C. celery- diced
1 lb hamburger
3/4 cup catsup
2T brown sugar
1/2C. water
1T Worcestershire Sauce
2T Apple Cider Vinegar
1T mustard
lots of salt & Pepper
Preparation instructions
Brown hamburger, onion, and celery together in a frying pan. Break up hamburger with a large fork, mix together, and add:
3/4 C. catsup, 2T brown sugar, 1/2 C. water, 1T Worcestershire sauce,
2 T Apple Cider Vinegar, 1 T Mustard, & lots of Salt & Pepper.
Simmer for 20 min.

10lb ground beef
3T white sugar
1lb onion, chopped
3T brown sugar
1(51oz) can tomato soup
1T accent salt
1T lawry’s seasoned salt
4T prpared mustard
1T pepper
4T salt
1 1/2 c oatmeal
Preparation instructions
Brown ground beef and add sugar while browning. Drain if necessary. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until all is heated through.
